Newborn Noah

Noah is one month, seventeen days and counting. He is lighting up our lives with his growing personality & curiosity.

I am a new mommy to this baby scene, learning and growing with Noah every day. Here are some of the fun things Josh and I have learned the first month of Noah's life:

* The loving feeling of his smile.

* That he likes to fall asleep to Celine Dion, Enya and occasionally some Cat Stevens. (I may use this against him later in life).

* How precious and special he is.

* How to operate on 4 hours of sleep.

 * How to shower quickly, its more of a game now... "Shower Before the Baby Wakes Up". I have pretty much mastered this now.

* He has a very good aim... this goes hand in hand with change diaper quickly.

* How good it can feel just looking at him.

* Car seats are heavy... especially carrying them up and down three floors.

* Having your survival bag (aka... diaper bag) is a life saver.

* How amazing having a child is.

* Amazed at how fast I get things done when he goes to sleep for only a few minutes.

* Time management, although with Noah's first month the thought of a schedule was out the window.

* To buy the biggest bag of diapers money can get.

* Having a baby brings you closer together with your partner.

* How you can't wait to see your baby progress... but hate to see them grow out of your favorite outfits.

* That this kid can EAT!

*How to fall in love all over again. Love for your child is heart aching.

Noah's Milestones:

Noah has started to giggle, smiles more and more, he focuses on objects for a longer amount of time, makes cooing noises instead of just crying/fussing, holds his head up when we do tummy time and grasps things in his little hands. Although, he has been holding onto his binky and has been able to pull it out of his mouth for a while now.

We have read some baby books and are excited for the milestones that are up and coming for Noah. During his second month here is a list of things Noah may start to do:

*Respond to loud sounds.

* Bear weight on legs.

* Follow objects past the midline of his face.

* Notice his own hands.

* Starts to attempt to copy simple sounds like 'oh' or 'o0h' and 'ah'.

  3. It absolutely warms my heart to know that you and Josh are having such wonderful experiences with Noah. You also had me laughing and reminding me of what I have in store....the great aim that baby boys posess...survival bag...the dang car seats. But it's all worth it when they look into your eyes full of love.
    I really look forward to every time you post and seeing how my little nephew is growing wayyy too fast! Love you guys!
